A magnificent vesica for a vestment, this 9 by 5 1/8 religious applique was done in france on woven gold metallic fabric and embroidered in black thread. It dates from the late 1960's and has never been used it is old stock in mint condition. It depicts ihs in striking black letters ihs is the first three letters of the greek word for jesus (iota, eta, sigma). There is also an outlined cross.
